Manfred Wittenstein is the initiator of the competition and has also coined the term Entrepreneur 4.0.
As one of the most respected entrepreneurs of Germany, his intention is to promote the changing economic, ecological, and social values and criteria of companies in the age of sustainability and to embed them in the mind of the public.
In cooperation with IMMAGIS, he developed the idea for and initiated the ENTREPRENEUR 4.0 AWARD.
The competition is meant to produce sensitivity and public awareness towards this new set of values and criteria for action which may serve as orientation and guideline equally for companies and for society. In this context, art has been imparted with the task to develop new means of expression that go beyond didactic concepts and starry-eyed “saving the world” scenarios.
– The goal is to sharpen our senses: to see the world “with different eyes”.
»Entrepreneurs are creators of the future and they carry a large responsibility that goes far beyond their immediate sphere of action. In this regard, an “Entrepreneur 4.0” to me is someone who, in a world that is increasingly confusing and dynamic, lives up to this responsibility by perceiving the own actions as taking place in a global context and with regard to society as a whole as well as by developing visions for a possible future. We need a discourse in society that is as broad as possible on the role and the image of the entrepreneur on our way into an uncertain future with large processes of change.
– I am convinced that an aesthetic, artistic, and critical exploration of this forward-looking and complex topic is an equally emotional and effective invitation to people to take an interest and get involved in the creation of the future.
This is why we established the ENTREPRENEUR 4.0 AWARD«
